They’re working alongside 60 soldiers from Gloucestershire’s 1 RIFLES, their paired Regular unit. Exercise Lion Star 3 is 6 Rifle’s third overseas exercise in four years and is aimed at developing the unit’s collective capability as well as enhancing its links with its Regular counterparts. The 150 Riflemen taking part in the exercise are split into three Reserve platoons serving alongside 1 Regular platoon and a machine gun platoon made up of both Regulars and Reservists.
